As a pianist, Marija attended numerous of master classes. Due to diverse influences of teachers from whom she has learned piano playing, she has achieved technique which is fusion of Russian and French pianistic schools. Marija considers that every music piece should be approached from the composer’s point of view, which means that specific technique and expression should be attained. Although she has frequently performed Brahms, Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin and other composers her real identification is with the music of Bach, Beethoven and Prokofiev. Aesthetics of recordings of famous pianists including Sviatoslav Richter and Glenn Gould have influenced her development strongly as a musician and an artist. Marija has performed extensively not only as a soloist but also as an accompanist and in chamber music ensembles.
Marija taught in the specialised Jovan Bandan Music School for Elementary and Secondary Education in Serbia. There she prepared students for examinations, coached prize winning students in competition season and prepared students for public performances. She accompanied wind instrumentalists and violinists in concerts, competitions and exams. With over seven years of experience in teaching, she has a strong commitment to the education of children and adults. Being dedicated and passionate about delivering quality learning experiences has allowed her students to achieve their potential and pursue their musical ambitions. Marija teaches music through the piano, not just the piano.
