Posted by As Term 1 draws to a close I’ve had some sad news to pass on to all our Moving Into Music students, families and friends. This is what I wrote:
“It is with a very heavy heart that I pass on the news, just received, of Carlo’s death.
After a courageous battle with cancer over the last 15 months, he died on Sunday 10th March in Italy and his funeral was held last Tuesday.
It is such sad news that our dear friend, colleague and drum teacher, Carlo has gone at such a young age – it was all too soon.
For all of us blessed by his friendship, his companionship on the staff of Moving Into Music since 2014, his expertise as a drummer and teacher … we mourn his passing and shall miss him. We shall treasure our memory of him – Carlo Canevali – the fine person we knew … and we shall remain forever grateful for the shared times when the warmth of his joyous personality, his expertise and skill alongside the strength of his professionalism enriched our lives.”
