Vocalist Gian Slater’s Trio is a deeply personal project, a ‘family band’ featuring brother Nathan Slater and partner Christopher Hale (acoustic bass guitar, mandolin). The group shares a long history of collaborations, a common musical language and an almost telepathic ensemble connection which sets Slater’s pure, distinctive voice alongside intricately arranged guitars.
This special concert marks the trio’s first outing in number of years, and will feature music from the group’s debut album Still Still (Whichway Music). They will be joined by another long-time friend, the remarkable multi-instrumentalist James Gilligan (violin, pedal steel guitar, baritone guitar).
