Moving Into Music moving into Spring 1: Vivaldi: The Four Seasons – ‘Spring’

Vivaldi: The New Four Seasons. – undoubtedly tops the list of best classical music for Spring.

British Nigel Kennedy is both a maverick of the classical world and one of the biggest violin superstars of his generation. With his breathtaking technique and penchant for blending classical with jazz, rock, and more,

Fun fact: Kennedy‘s mother was a pianist and his father a cellist who emigrated to Australia and was senior cello lecturer at University of Melbourne Conservatorium. Hence Nigel’s strong connections with Australia.

Nigel, a prodigy, was mentored by legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin in his youth and emerged in the 1980s with his breakthrough recording Vivaldi: The Four Seasons with the English Chamber Orchestra. Despite his mainstream acceptance, Kennedy bucked tradition, adopting a spiky mohawk haircut and punk-inspired stage attire.
