Looking Back during Lockdown: Cesar Rodrigues … former guitar teacher with Moving Into Music

Over the years Moving Into Music has had many talented guitar teachers. Among these is Cesar Rodrigues.

We take this opportunity to look some of the creative pursuits of Cesar these days.

Cesar currently collaborates with Memphis Kelly – daughter of music legend Paul Kelly. As a three year old, Memphis attended Lauris’ Moving Into Music Pre-Schooler classes. She is remembered from those days for her sparkly sequinned dancing shoes.

Life moves on … these days she’s making her mark on the music scene … in Melbourne and abroad.

Cesar and Memphis …

Melbourne synth achievers SAATSUMA display expertise in making their deliciously dark, at times sparse, intricacies look effortless. Building complex, zesty layers, before delighting in peeling them away to reveal segments of their progressive, proudly oz made pesticide-free organic, heartfelt, no-choice-but-to-dance R&B electronica.

Also … it is interesting to read this comment from Cesar:  “I think the hardest thing that we deal with as musicians isnʼt necessarily the rigmarole of touring and making music, but the internal conversations that happen surrounding this. One moment you might be thinking “wow this is great, my music is well received and I get to play it to people who come and see our shows” to “everything I do is horrible and I wanna crawl into my bed and watch The OA for the rest of my life”. I think itʼs important to check yourself. Every time I feel like my life sucks or my ego starts to escape me, I try and remind myself that the mere fact that I am able to make music is a gift that most of the world donʼt have, or have no access to”.
