“Here we bring you Part 2 of MIM Monthly | October.

We continue with our theme of October – time to meet big challenges!

We feature Sophie Dalla Riva, senior student who faces the GAT Test on 5th October and thereafter VCE exams begin. For all senior students – October is time to meet big challenges. We wish them well for the preparation and for the sitting of their exams – it is always a stressful period.

Here’s a glimpse of Sophie’s musical journey …

As a MIM guitar student of Delaney, Nathan and Genaaron … and as a drums student of Luke, Sophie performed in many Solos and Christmas Concerts between 2015 and 2019.

In 2020 Sophie joined the band Division through a program called Girl’s Rock! which puts random groups of young musicians together to rehearse and write music in a professional studio.

During 2021, for her VCE subject Media and Music Industry, Sophie has been working for 8 months on producing a magazine featuring people, bands, businesses, programs and experiences within the music industry. These include Moving Into Music, Rock Academy Australia, Fight Night Records, Wrangler Studio, Amplify|SYN Radio 90.7 and

local bands: The Vovo’s, Subcult, The Laymen, Voiid, The Nice Age, Tax Evaders.

Sophie is a volunteer on Radio Show Amplify on SYN.
