“Dear Moving Into Music students, families and friends,

June has arrived. Winter has well and truly arrived! The days are getting shorter but as the weather gets colder we, at Moving Into Music, get warmer with expectation of the mid-year concerts. At Mid-Year the Concerts are organised in teacher groups and spread across the day with individual students performing solo items. After two challenging years … this year we are out of lockdown and so are looking forward to sharing live concerts – performers, families and friends gathering to celebrate musical progress and achievement. While we enjoyed the Online Concert experiences of the past two years, we are thrilled to be able to prepare for live concerts this year. These will be special events.

In this Monthly, we take a look at previous live concerts both mid-year and Christmas. We hear from senior students, who began learning as youngsters and have performed at MIM concerts over many years. We share with you the comments of their parents who entrusted their musical journeys to Moving Into Music. We commend these students and families who have stayed the course and are now reaping the benefits – accomplished players, skilled musicians who will share their talents with us at the upcoming concerts.

It’s time to support our students – let’s push forward by encouraging them to perform in the mid-year concerts. At mid-year concerts the stage is small, the audience warm and friendly, the support HUGE. This is the perfect platform for our piano, guitar and drums students to display their developing skills. Everyone is welcome.

* While the double threat of Covid+Flu rages, MIM recommends switching to online lessons, where possible, when face-to face lessons have to be cancelled.
