Zoy Frangos and Elisa Colla: An Italian and a Greek …

… is a food blog from husband, tenor Zoy Frangos and wife soprano, Elisa Colla.
2020 – the pandemic hit. Theatres around the world shut down … and like many artists, the performing lives of Elisa Colla and husband Zoy Frangos came to a sudden halt. Colla had been cast in a major UK musical that would have opened in London while Frangos, best known as Judas in The Production Company’s Jesus Christ Superstar, was on his final audition for another show. Both thought they had cracked the tough West End.
Said Colla: “A few days after being cast I received a phone call to say the show was being postponed and Zoy was told the day after his audition that the theatres were closing,” Colla says. “The safest thing to do was to come home – but we’ll get back there.” Colla and Frangos had to put their dream of performing on the West End in London on hold,

The salve for their bitter disappointment was to throw themselves into cooking. They decided to launch a food blog, ‘An Italian and a Greek.’ Colla has Italian heritage and Frangos comes from a proud family of Greek restaurant owners. Together, they have a wealth of family recipes that they share on Instagram with a cookbook in the works.

MUSIC, FOOD, LOVE – what a great combination!!
Z&E
Like many other musicians, Zoy and Elisa heavily felt the brunt of the covid crisis – lockdowns, lost contracts and lost earnings. Like many others in this predicament they looked for ways to sustain themselves. They found distractions and new projects … among these their foray into cooking. They cooked to survive the physical and mental pressures. Here we introduce them to you. Read what they did, what they cooked and please support, if you are able, their return to performing.
