Concert 2: Drum Students of Sebastian Vargas and Guitar Students of Toby Mach & Kieran Colton … a spirited opening with the drummers – young, enthusiastic and showing developing skill … they packed a punch! They played with backing tracks – music from hot bands – the sounds well-loved by music fans of all ages. Guitarists continued with hits from the Pop Charts, music from films, music from shows and video games .. popular choices of well-known bands and artists.
Acoustic and electric guitars were on show with a mix of genres. A teen acoustic guitarist gave his fingers a workout on Rush E … and a young rock-star in the making gave his pedals a workout on Sweet Child O’ Mine. The value of older students as role models for the younger is always noted. Rush E, played on both guitar and piano this concert round, impressed a young drummer – the music and the teen performers both proving to be inspirational. Role models are essential to aspiration! The Staff item, Megalovania, inspirational and aspirational – Sebastian on drums and Toby on guitar were joined by Yi-Ling on piano to close the concert.
We sincerely hope that our performing students have found strength and fulfilment through their concert experiences. Moving Into Music is a community of music lovers which supports the effort and enterprise of its students and teachers. May the love of music prevail and bring enjoyment to our students while developing confidence, resilience and self-worth which will serve them well throughout their lives.
