Moving Into Music Mid-Year Concert 3 – Pianos …

Solo Concerts:  LIVE @ MLC, Barkers Rd, Kew: Sunday 31st July 2022 … we share with you these glimpses:
Concert 3 A
Concert 3: Piano Students of Zac Hamilton-Russell … one third of these performers had played a live concert before, one third had played only an online concert and for one third – this was their first concert with MIM. They played music from their tutor books, pieces they are preparing for examination and personal choices from popular and classical repertoire. These students stepped up with dexterity, efficiency and composure. The vibe in the room was warm, friendly and supportive.
 Concert 3 B
An empty piano stool above marks the place of a student forced to cancel out of the concert due to Covid – sadly still a hazard of the times!
The final items were both compositions by French composer Claude Debussy. Arabesque No. 1, played by senior student Yong (featured in MIM Monthly|June) and La Fille aux Chevaux de Lin, played by teacher Zac Hamilton-Russell, were tranquil, serene and elegant … a fitting close to a Sunday morning of beautiful music.
Presentations
Each concert finished with presentations: butterflies and congratulations cards given to all performers in appreciation and recognition of their contributions and achievements. Thanks to the staff for their preparation of students: Wonderful Day – Fantastic Concerts – Everyone take a bow !!
