Moving Into Music

Moving Into Music – Allans Music School students are offered regular opportunities to perform at studio concerts under the direction of their teacher. These concerts can present as few as ten or as many as thirty students with an audience made up of friends and family.

The concerts are valuable to students for motivation, to experience their first public appearances and as rehearsals prior to taking an exam.

They can provide preparation for playing under pressure. They offer the opportunity for teachers and family to support and encourage students – to show appreciation for effort – and to give public accolade for achievement.

Held at the Music Auditorium Methodist Ladies College- Kew

All students are invited to perform in the annual Moving Into Music Christmas Concert. This concert is held in a large state-of-the-art auditorium at Methodist Ladies College in Kew.  The auditorium seats an audience of 360.

The concert features predominantly group items with ensembles of keyboard, digital piano, acoustic/electric guitar, bass  guitar and drum students. Children and adults perform. Classes of younger students including the pre-schoolers perform items of singing and playing on percussion instruments and recorders. A special item at each concert may feature staff who are all professional performers or a guest such as a past parent or student.

This concert is the occasion for students, family and friends to celebrate the end of our musical year in a spirit of festivity and goodwill.
